‘Gundoku’ Competition – Japanese Inter- School Choral recitation was held at Birla Vidya Niketan on 6th December 2019, in collaboration with Japan Foundation, JALSTA, JAL, Experience Japan EJ with support of Embassy of Japan
The Principal welcomed the Chief Guest – Mr. Masahiro Kobayashi: First secretary, Embassy of Japan, to the Panel of Judges were Prof. Ashok Chawla : Advisor MEA, Prof. Manjushree Chauhan : JNU, Ms. Etsuko Kobayashi; Vice- Principal Japanese School, New Delhi, Mr. Junichi Arima; Advisor Japan Language Japan Foundation and to the other guests Mr. Noguchi; Director – Japanese Language studies; Japan Foundation, Ms. Imoto ; Advisor Japanese Language, Japan Foundation, Ms. Sonu Gupta; Program Manager, Japan Foundation. She also welcomed the sponsors from Japan Airlies- JAL- Mr. Shinya Naruse- Country Manager, JAL, Ms. Manisha Aggarwal- General Manager JAL and to Ms. Meenakshi Guta from JAL.
145 students from 13 schools participated in this competition. They recited a poem title ‘CHikyu aisatsu’ which means Greetings to the world by Madomichio.
The winners were- 1st Prize – Birla Vidya Niketan, 2nd Prize – Bluebells School & 3rd Prize – Amity International School, Vasundra.
Mr. Kobayashi was delighted to be amongst the students and appreciated the enthusiasm in students for learning Japanese language.
Mr. Chawla thanked the School Principal – Ms. Minakshi Kushwaha for her efforts to promote Japanese language and appreciated the pronunciation and diction of the participants and encouraged them to learn Japanese Language to be the brand ambassadors from India.
Mr. Noguchi congratulated the participants and expressed his gratitude to BVN for endorsing & promoting Japanese Language and for organizing this event in the school
